InnoPub Media, SMART Communications, Inc., and PLDT are holding another New Media Meetup in time for Cebu’s celebration of Press Freedom Week. The event is meant to gather journalists, writers, bloggers, photographers for a discussion and sharing of tips on journalism and new media.

This year’s New Media Meetup will tackle mobile journalism and basic code literacy. It will be held on Friday, September 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants will have a working lunch.

Multi-awarded photojournalist Vic Kintanar will discuss how to use the phone for news coverages, especially in taking news photos.

Sun.Star Cebu editor-in-chief Isolde Amante will discuss how to start strong in your article – an important skill in today’s media environment where you have to hook readers in very early into the article or risk losing them to phone distractions.

InnoPub Media co-founder Max Limpag will give a hands-on discussion on basic HTML/CSS literacy as foundation for ebooks production and apps development. He will also discuss the use of Markdown to simplify coding and formatting articles for online publication.

Slots to the meetup are limited. To join, sign up using the form below.
